The June 2026 album brings together nearly a hundred images signed by some thirty photographers, covering a wide range of ecosystems and taxa. Aquatic environments feature prominently, with Bruno Guénard's series dedicated to the fauna of a pond in Loir-et-Cher: Triturus cristatus larvae resting among phytoplankton, zygopteran nymphs, aquatic beetles including the great diving beetle (Dytiscus marginalis), and volvox algae colonies (Volvox sp.) photographed at the water's surface. At the other end of the geographical spectrum, Jean Cassou delivers an underwater set from dive sites in Bali and the French Var, featuring nudibranchs, gobies (Bryaninops yongei), and remarkable gorgonians (Annella mollis, Eunicella cavolini).
African wildlife is well represented this month, through contributions from Michel Bureau, Marion Vollborn, and Shane P. White. Their work includes series on the savanna elephant (Loxodonta africana), the cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus), and the lion (Panthera leo), alongside two standout images by Marion Vollborn: a close-up of a ground pangolin (Smutsia temminckii) in Limpopo, and a solitary lioness perched in a tree in heavy rain. Martin Zwick, meanwhile, documents the striated caracara (Phalcoboenus australis) in the Falkland Islands, a rare raptor observed in direct interaction with gentoo penguin (Pygoscelis papua) colonies.
Entomology and herpetology are also on the agenda, with André Simon photographing the long-tailed blue butterfly (Lampides boeticus) in the Massif des Maures, Marie Aymerez capturing a Napoleon crab spider (Synema globosum) preying on a bee in the Var, and Thorsten Negro documenting the aye-aye (Daubentonia madagascariensis) in the humid forests of Madagascar. Nesting European birds round out the collection, from a hoopoe (Upupa epops) feeding its chicks (Thomas Hinsche) to a common blackbird (Turdus merula) at the nest, photographed by Tonino De Marco in a garden in the Oise.
