Georges Lopez reveals the ecological richness of the Pyrenees, from brown bears and mountain flora to crystals under the microscope.

Georges Lopez is a nature photographer who has been passionate about photography and observing nature since his teenage years. His favorite place to explore is the Pyrenees mountain range, which he travels across both sides, with a particular interest in the Aspe Valley, one of the last refuges for brown bears in France. His work documents the diversity of mountain landscapes and the ecological richness of these ecosystems.

His subjects cover a wide spectrum, from fauna and flora to insects, rocks, and minerals. In particular, he has developed original research on crystals observed under polarized light using a microscope, revealing unexpected structures and colors that enrich his photographic approach.

In addition to his work as an author, Georges Lopez has long given lectures and slide shows in cultural centers in the Aquitaine region, using his images to raise public awareness of nature and biodiversity in the French and Spanish Pyrenees.
