Walks in the Rambouillet forest with his parents and Christian Zuber's wildlife documentaries, notably on the TV program Caméra au Poing, were the triggers for a deep passion for nature and photography.
From his very first summer jobs, Thierry Le Quay invested in silver-based photographic equipment. His first camera, a PRAKTIKA combined with a 400 mm SIGMA, opened the doors to a world where patience and observation were essential.
What he loves most of all is nature, close by, discreet and often overlooked. He is passionate about this quest, which involves cobbled-together blinds with friends, and long hours of silent waiting, sometimes without an image to show for it - but always rich in lessons.
Over the years, his experiences have been enriched by travels and mountain hikes. Nevertheless, he returns tirelessly to his stalking sessions, whenever the weather permits. Blending into the scenery, observing without disturbing, letting the animal behave freely: for him, this is where the most sincere photography is born. Following a species, getting to know its habits and rhythms, is the key to an authentic and successful image.
