Franco Banfi – Awards at the 2025 Bird Photographer of the Year Competition

Our photographer Franco Banfi was honored at the prestigious international competition Bird Photographer of the Year 2025. His photograph “Feasting at Sunset” won first prize in the Birds in the Environment category, while his image “Underwater Harmony and Chaos” received a highly distinguished honorable mention in the same category.

With more than 33,000 images competing this year, these distinctions represent an outstanding achievement in the field of bird photography.

The Bird Photographer of the Year competition celebrates the beauty and diversity of the avian world through the eyes of photographers from around the globe. The winning images will be part of an international touring exhibition, with upcoming stops at the Forte di Bard (Aosta Valley, Italy) and the South Carolina State Museum (United States).
